Title
Improving young persons arts education and personal career development
Description
Participating in a 3 month contemporary dance residency in Goa, India, integrating artists from different cultures and backgrounds. On the residency, there will be opportunities to integrate and perform within the local community, develop dance education and connect with people from around the world. Returning to the UK, the knowledge gained will be shared with A Level Dance students, young people in Surrey and London through community workshops and performance opportunities.
Support type
Capital - The funding would cover the cost of participating in the educational residency and travel costs over three months. Upon returning to the UK, the remaining funds would cover travel to Reigate Sixth Form College to teach the students, studio hire for classes and workshops outside of the college. Any remaining funds would be supplied as a bursary for students unable to pay to attend classes and workshops outside of the college.
